Launchedin 2016, the " La Grande Épicerie de Paris" product range is the natural continuation of a history spanning almost a century.
Back in 1923, a food counter offering tea, coffee, spices and chillies opened at Le Bon Marché Rive Gauche, the ancestor of today's store, inaugurated in 1978 and reinvented during the major renovations of 2012-2013. The opening of a second address in Passy, in November 2017, soon followed the creation of the brand. Founded in 1947, the Fédération des Épiciers de France is the professional organization representing and defending France's 30,000 independent grocers.

Whether he's a fine, practical or ethnic grocer, the grocer remains the leading player in the local market, and to defend him, the Fédération des Épiciers de France has set itself a number of missions to represent and benefit the profession.

Created by Patrice Jacquelin in early 2020, French Gourmet Food today brings together 5 major players in the gourmet sector: the Au Bec Fin cannery, Savor Créations, Confits de Provence, 4 Saisons and Apiculteurs des Alpilles.

Guy Demarle's CEO has a twofold objective for French Gourmet Food: to achieve sufficient size to succeed on the export market, and to pursue the development of organic products. Complementing each other, the various companies with sales of 30 million euros have all kept their historic operational managers. This continuity is the source of a real synergy: each company director brings his or her own experience and skills to the table. This is a strategic choice for Patrice Jacquelin, who sees himself as the leader of a team of committed, development-minded managers, while working on new acquisitions.

Corporate Innovation Award

French Gourmet Food and Le Monde de l'Epicerie Fine joined forces in 2020 to create the Prix de l'Innovation Corporate, which rewards market innovation with a global, sustainable approach. We don't judge the product, but the product in a market and its chances of finding an audience," explains Patrice Jacquelin, who ensures that the winner not only gains visibility, but also strategic support over the course of a year. In 2020, the prize went to Bú Bouillons, and a jury "coup de coeur" was awarded to Biomomo Hashimoto. In 2021 Lorlut Caramel was awarded the Corporate Innovation Prize, and Absoluthé the Jury's Favourite.

In 2023, L'Épicurien expands its horizons with an artisan cookie factory, created in partnership with talented pastry chef Chloé Gonzalez, former chef de partie at Michel et Sébastien Bras in Laguiole (2 Michelin stars).
